48 HOURS IN LAS VEGAS

Without the kids in tow, we decided to add 48 hours to our hectic travel plans and paid a visit to”sin city”.

We stayed at Palms Place Hotel and Spa which was off the strip. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a one bedroom corner suite with views of the strip. The 1,220 square feet suite comes with 1.5 Marbled bathrooms, state of the art kitchen, living room with a fireplace, jetted bath and of course the floor to ceiling windows with views of the strip.

The first night in LA was all about winding down and relaxing, getting ready for the next day – which would be jammed packed of activities we wanted to do. We got ready and headed to dinner at The Buffet Bellagio. We spent the rest of the night taking in the scene and enjoying the lights.

Day Two: The highlights….

Shooting range

We called the night before to organised an early pick up and shooting experience with  Battlefield Vegas . This experience was more for the MR. but I did have fun getting the targets on point more then he did. When booking with Battle Vegas, you receive a complimentary pick up and drop off in an authentic U.S. military Humvee or Gun truck. We got to try the MP5K, UZI, COLT M$ and AK47. This was the first time we ever held a real gun and it was quite an experience.

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour

We booked the Sunset Grand Celebration with Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Tour with Papillon . We were picked up in a private limousine from our hotel at 1:40om and headed to the airport. The pilot flew us out of the city and we were able to enjoy unparalleled birds eye view of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, volcanoes, the Colorado Rover and the beauty of the Desert. As we entered the west rim of the canyon we got to experience up close views of ancient rock formations and landed 4,000 feet below the rim for a champagne picnic on the canyon floor. It was breathtaking. Once we were done, we flew into the sunset just in time to see the lights of the strip from above. This was an incredible experience.

JLO

This was our second concert together (first was Backstreet Boys when they toured in Perth 2010). We hardly get top artists in Perth, so when we found out JLO was performing that night I had to push back our flights to the next morning to watch it.

oh boy can she dance ! It was such an energetic and amazing show. We were lucky to be seated quite close to the stage as well.

After the show we headed back to the hotel, and was able to see a scene from the new Jason Bourne movie being filmed. It was quite interesting (and repetitive).

Dinner that night was at N9NE STEAKHOUSE , which was located in our hotel. We had the 44oz Prime Ribeye Tomahauk steak for two and of course some red wine. It was delish !!

After a busy day it was nice to relax in our own tub with the view of Vegas. I wish we had more time to chill at bars and enjoy the nightlife abit more. There is always next time…
